tucsonCAMP 2020, Feb 13th-17th

enduranceWERX tucsonCAMP 2020 is a 5 day cycling camp in beautiful Tucson, AZ.  enduranceCAMP will focus on endurance mileage while teaching advanced skills and group riding techniques under the careful supervision of our experienced coaching staff. Each day features 80-100 miles of riding around the beautiful varied terrain of southern AZ. Tucson is a “go to” cycling location for early season training with great weather and varied cycling terrain so ditch the trainer and winter weather for a  long weekend with us to boost your cycling confidence for 2020. Camp is limited to 12 people and sign up is first-come, first-served. Below is the signup link, https://forms.gle/Qkw5TBU2Z9FoAoDB7. By filling out the form you express your interest in camp and someone from enduranceWERX will reach out to you for deposit. 

Registration: $1049 (after Jan 1st the price increases to $1149)

Includes: 

  • Daily mechanical preparation, ride service, and support.
  • Daily vehicle sag support
  • Daily training sessions led by enduranceWERX coaches
  • Catered dinner on Sat. night.
  • Common Room: Bike Storage, Bike Maintenance, Meeting Place for group discussions
  • Training Presentations on the latest technology, training periodization with power, and nutrition. 

You will leave this camp with the experience and confidence to make you successful in 2020.

Registration

There is a non-refundable deposit of $300 made at date of registration to secure your spot. The balance of the camp fee will be made 30 days prior to the start of camp and will be billed automatically. Please review the cancellation policies below.

Cancellation Policy

Registration deposits are non-refundable. Additional fees are based on how close to the event cancellation notice is received.

  • Deposit – Non refundable
  • 15-30 days: 50% of camp Price
  • 0-15 days: 75% of camp price

enduranceWERX reserves the right to cancel a camp if it fails to meet the minimum attendance required. Any cancellations will be made at least 30 days prior to the camp. In the event of a cancellation all registrants will be issued a full refund. enduranceWERX is not responsible for fees incurred or associated with planning for the camp by registrants such as non-refundable airline tickets.

Arrival/Departure

Midday-Evening shuttles will be available for Tucson Airport. Please provide Arrival and Departure details as soon as possible. Athletes flying into Phoenix, after camp has started, or outside reasonable shuttle hours will be responsible for their own transportation.

Individuals are responsible for room reservations. For special camp rate at Wyndham you must identify yourself as part of the enduranceWERX group. The resort has extended a group rate of $179/night (single/double). Rates have been extended to our group for 2-days prior and post camp and their is complimentary in-room wireless internet.  Please call or email the reservations department at (800) 722-2500 or reservationstusgr@wyndham.com. Rooms will be held until January 21st.

Individuals are responsible for room reservations. Special camp rates will apply. 

Food

We will have sport drinks, food, spare tubes/tires, etc in our follow vehicles. We will keep the bike room stocked with bananas, bars, hydration mix, recovery mix, etc. but with the exception of the Sunday night catered dinner all meals are your responsibility. If you plan to arrive before a or remain after, and wish to ride, please bring what food/drink supplies you will need for your riding.

What to Bring:

  • Bicycle: clean, tuned and ready to ride
  • Gearing: Your bike should have at least a 11-28 or 11-30 cassette and/or a compact crank.
  • Helmet
  • Jerseys: at least 4 (short and or long sleeve)
  • Shorts: at least 4 pair
  • Wind Vest
  • Base layer : 1 or 2 lightweight
  • Rain Jacket
  • Arm Warmers
  • Socks
  • Cycling gloves: short finger
  • Cycling Shoes/pedals (carry these with you if traveling by plane) 
  • Saddle (Bring your saddle if you are renting a bike)
  • Eyewear/sunglasses
  • Chamois cream
  • Small tote or backpack for anything you wish to keep in support vehicles.
  • Heart Rate Monitor and/or Power Meter (PowerTap or SRM or other)
  • Sunscreen
  • Toiletries for clean up between rides.
  • Items to add just in case
  • Light jacket

  • Long sleeve and/or thermal jersey

If you plan on renting, please bring fit measurements. It is important that your rental bike be as close as possible to the bike you have adapted to.

Bike Transport / Storage:
Bikes will be stored and locked securely overnight throughout the camp in the Mesa Room. If you plan to ship your bike please notify us ASAP to arrange with the Hotel. If you would like to rent a bicycle while on the trip we recommend that you bring your saddle, shoes, and pedals to install on the rental. If you do not have your bike position measurements be sure to get them in advance so we can replicate your position once you get your rental.

7pm- 2019 tucsonCAMP CAMP Welcome: MESA Room

Day 1, Thursday 

10:00 AM MESA room
2:00 PM – Ride return
2:15 PM – Cornering skills practice – We will have a short discussion about bike handling and cornering then venture to parking lot at southern edge of Westward Look, near Ina Rd. for a few bike drills. Good for the Mt. Lemmon Descent!
3:00 PM – Optional ride on your own

6:45am- Roll out for THE WORLD FAMOUS TUCSON SHOOTOUT (The Shootout has an “A” ride leaving at 7:30 and a “B” ride leaving at 7:15am) to Madera Canyon – 106 & 95 mile Options
106 Mile Option – Not much longer but about 1500 feet more vertical
