Camp exceeded my expectations. I learned about myself as a rider and how much I can handle physically and mentally. I pushed through tough times and I can feel it made me stronger. Until Tucson my biggest mileage week was 185 miles, and by day seven I was beat. In AZ I did 270 miles in four days, and I could have kept going. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that.
I thought camp ended when we flew home, but I am now learning about fatigue and recovery. I couldn't have figured all of this out just riding at home, so thanks for making Tucson happen.
I'm entering my second year of riding and I'll approach training with more structure rather than as an amateur bonehead who likes to go out and smash it. Who am I kidding, I'll still do that, but I am a more informed rider due to camp and I'm looking forward to taking training more seriously.
Big thanks, guys.
